Indian Airlines Hangar
This was a competition winning design, is a 200 foot cantilever on either side of a three storey, 90 feet wide central core; whose columns are cross braced at the ends. Other columns projecting 30 feet above the roof line, in turn anchor high tension hangers that hold up 200 feet cantilevers on either side. The folded plate roof along the entire 300 foot length, holds potential to house a number of aircraft. On completion in 1963 it was the largest cantilevered hangar in the world.
